PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — President Donald Trump hasn & rsquo; t tweeted concerning the 2018 Winter Games seen with the Olympics venues here. However he had been on heads and lips Saturday night during the biathlon, a sport that unites cross-country skiing and rifle shooting.
“If you’ve got this president that was like you’ve, Trump, then you will alter nothing’ stated Wolfgang Pichler.
Norway’s Tiril Eckhoff, who won the bronze medal in the Girls’s 12.5-meter mass Begin Saturday, grinned as she said, “I don’t Believe Trump Wants me now…’’
Eckhoff voiced support.
“In Norway it’s strict to buy rsquo; & & firearms, & rsquo. “I think rsquo & that;s thing in America. Everybody can purchase a gun, which’s wrong, I think.
“The entire world isn’t safer with firearms. It’s bizarre when I say it since I do sports. But I think if you don’t possess great training just like you have in military or just like you do in our own game … if people believe you can do enjoy in ‘Call of Duty,’ when mentally not-healthy people are able to go out and buy a gun, then it’s not good for the planet, or even the U.S.’’
Switzerland’s Elisa Gasparin also said she’d push for tighter gun control.
“It’s important to control who receives weapons, because I think it & rsquo; s more easy in America for to a weapon compared to in Switzerland, & rsquo; & & rsquo. “In Switzerland, you want to confirm that you’re not (mentally ill), and also you have to prove that you don’t have some (criminal) history. Something like this can occur. ’’
Susan Dunklee explained her struggles following a shooting and talked before the Florida catastrophe to The Washington Post while no American biathletes competed Saturday.
“… Each time I hear of some mass shooting like it’s extremely painful,” Dunklee told The Post. “That’ so different than my experience with rifles and firearms. It’s tough. I fight with that. ”
Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi said she had been bothered by the gun violence, and in particular by news reports regarding officers.
“It’s quite dangerous in U.S. rather than in Italy,’& ’ she explained. “When I had been in America, I would not feel secure, I believe. ’’
