Her marriage to Roman Polanski

Days before her 25th birthday, Tate married her Fearless Vampire Killers manager and co-star Roman Polanski, then 34, at a London ceremony in the Chelsea Register Office on Jan. 20, 1968. In styles fitting with the times, Tate wore a high-neck yellowish minidress of her own design, her hair. Polanski’s ensemble included a jabot.

While the two seem pleased in footage from their reception which followed in the Playboy Club A Life writer Ed Sanders indications at cracks in their bliss. He writes in his 2016 biography that Valley of the Dolls writer Jacqueline Susann, a guest in one of the couple’s wedding parties, recalled Tate “was really happy, but she had been entirely under Roman’s predominate.
